COFFEE TABLE TRAY – A Silk Scarf

COFFEE TABLE TRAY

November 30 , 2018

Happy Friday! My college roommate just bought her first house and I couldn’t be more excited for her! She has worked her butt off and she finally made a purchase! The gift I decided on wasn’t a hard decision because I made her one of my favorite things that I have in my home. A picture coffee table tray!  Not only is it cute but it also really comes in handy! I use mine to put food and coffee on and I use it on the couch and bed. Or even just stacking coffee table books on for decorating is great too.

The first step is laying out the pictures, deciding where you want each one to go, and taping them once you’ve decided. Easy enough!

(I wouldn’t use glue unless you’re sure you never want to change the pictures. I knew in the future she would want to switch them out, so I used tape.)

Secondly, the tray and I went to a local glass business and I asked if they could cut a piece of scrap glass that fit in the tray for protection. When I took mine in years ago I had to drop the tray off because they didn’t have time. But when I took her’s in, it only took them 5 minutes!

VERY IMPORTANT– make sure they cut the glass a little smaller than the tray size. Leaving a tiny bit of room so that the glass can come in and out for when switching the picture time comes.  I learned the hard way on mine!

TA DA Yay! I’m using mine right now as I write this! The glass is an essential part because it makes it so you can put food and drinks on the tray without damaging the photos. I used 3.25 x 3.25 picture sizes on this tray however, any size would look great too!
